CIGs Run / Walk / Health Fair

Dates:

Saturday, April 17, 2010. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and Run/Walk begins at 9:00 a.m. Health Fair from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Location:

Quarterdeck Building, Lemone Industrial Blvd., Columbia, MO

Entry Fee:

Health Fair is free and open to the public.

The walk/run fee is $5 for students, $15 for individuals and $25 for families. Kids and pets are welcome! The fee covers entry into CIGS Run/Walk, medals and trophies. All run/walk participants will also receive a t-shirt. The net proceeds will be donated to MU Healthcare's research on smoking-related diseases.

Deadline:

Early registration is available, however registration will also take place the morning of the race (beginning at 8:00a.m.).

How to Enter:

Register online now for the CIGS race. To enter by mail, please complete an CIGS Race entry form and mail it along with payment to:

Format:

Age groups for 12 and under, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & over.

The Show-Me STATE GAMES is proud to be the official presenting sponsor of the fifth Annual CIGS Run/Walk. It consists of a 4-mile race or a 1.3-mile walk and also includes a Health Fair where participants can take part in free health screenings and learn about smoking cessation and living a healthy lifestyle.

MU Healthcare employee and former smoker Jim Linville founded the CIGS Run/Walk to benefit research of smoking-related diseases. As an ex-smoker and sufferer of COPD himself, Jim is a supporter of smoking cessation and desires to educate all smokers about cessation options.

The event will also include a Memorial Mile in memory of Jim's brother wish a cash prize for the winner.
